CARING FOR PEOPLE GOD’S WAY

If you answer yes to any of the following questions, God may be calling you to a special ministry of caring.

1.       Do you find that family and friends often come to you for help with their problems?

2.    Do you feel God has gifted you with a heart that desires to help these people, care for them and provide encouragement in their time of need?

3.    Do you wish you had a better understanding of the issues people struggle with in today’s complex world?

4.    Do you wish you were better trained and equipped, more skilled and better able to use God’s Word during these times?

5.     Do you wish you could get the training you desire and need without having to leave home or spend years in study to do so?

The River has received the curriculum Caring for People God’s Way,  thirty DVD lessons featuring some of the world’s best Bible teachers, medical experts, counselors and educators, complete with course lectures, outlines, and study notes. The program has been developed by Light University, under the auspices of the American Association of Christian Counselors.  These courses are offered to licensed counselors for continuing education units. (You will not receive a degree or license from completing this curriculum, but you can receive CEU’s and credentials as a Lay Counselor of Oconee River Church.) We will offer some of the units as individual courses here at the River which you may take at no charge. If you desire to get the credentials, you must take and pass the exams which come with each unit.  Cost of that program is $170.00.

Helping Others Find Significance in Life

The Power of Truth

Overcoming Depression

Surviving Sexual Abuse
